Jermaine Jenas: Why Tottenham won’t see West Ham as a challenge

Spurs are looking for their seventh straight win in the Premier League, as they chase a first top-flight title since 1961.

This could be the hardest game Tottenham have got left to play this season (I know they play a North London Derby on Saturday – but if Arsenal play like they did at Old Trafford, they’ll get turned over).

Meanwhile, manager Slaven Bilic has said that Diafra Sakho has been training and he will make an assessment on the day of the match if his player can make the squad.

Tottenham Hotspur will look to keep the pressure on at the top of the table when they take on West Ham at Upton Park on Wednesday night.

“They are there and it is only 11 games to go so why not?” he said.

Jonathan Pearce: “Back in October I asked Mauricio Pocchetino why Tottenham’s declared ambition was just a top-four place”.

Jermaine Jenas says Hammers fans hold such animosity for Spurs because Tottenham players never viewed matches against the Upton Park club as a big derby. Both sides are playing some great football at the moment and I am excited to see how they play when they up against each other this week.

“I hope they are ambassadors and that they show that we are a great club and a polite club”.

Writing in his Yahoo Sport column, former Spurs midfielder Jenas explained why their derby against West Ham doesn’t fall in the same bracket as games against Arsenal and Chelsea.

The feeling I had in the dressing room after that match, sitting in agony with people throwing up all around me while the West Ham players across the hallway were screaming and shouting like they had won the FA Cup, is something that will stick in my mind forever.
