Bradford expected to be ready for start of camp

Bradford, of course, has an advantage that Maclin didn’t in that the quarterback has already pocketed $65 million in salary from his first five seasons.

The Eagles quarterback has suffered a torn ACL two years in-a-row, but Elliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com says he’s on track to make a full comeback in time for camp. The move left a lot of people scratching their heads, especially Eagles fans.

As stated by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Bradford will not negotiate a new contract until after the 2015 season is complete.

If Bradford plays well this year and goes elsewhere, the Eagles will have nothing to show for shipping Foles – who has a 14-4 record with 40 touchdowns and 12 interceptions under Kelly – and that second-round pick to the Rams, other than the possibility of future compensatory picks based on overall net gain in free agency next year. Bradford is expected to be the starter, but Kelly said to CSN Philly that Sanchez and Bradford are “openly competing” for the starting job.

Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford is apparently taking the same approach as wide receiver Jeremy Maclin after it was reported that Bradford will play out the final year of his rookie contract rather than sign an extension. Bradford did not take part in the 11-on-11 drills during the spring organized team activities, although he did gradually increase his participation in the team 7-on-7s as the OTAs went along. Bradford obviously believes that Kelly’s system and commitment to sports science can resurrect his career.

Bradford is betting himself to bounce back after tearing his ACL in each of the past two seasons. Beating out Sanchez would be a good first step on both fronts and it looks like Bradford will be in a position to do that in August.
