Youtube for iOS update now plays vertical videos in full screen
Google has announced several changes to its YouTube mobile interface for both Android and iOS.

In addition to the subscription tab, the new app has Home and Account, the latter where your playlists and watch history will now be tucked into.
“Home” will be where users can explore new content through recommendations based on browsing history, much like the first screen users see in the current design. With the redesigned app you can take your creativity to new levels using a new set of video creation tools. And to help make sure you never miss an upload, you can now tap the bell icon on the channels you love to get a notification as soon as a new video is posted.
YouTube has just fixed the most annoying thing about your homemade iPhone or Android videos – you know, the ones you record when you are foolishly holding your smartphone vertically.
Previously, YouTube would display vertical videos in full-screen landscape mode which kept the actual viewing area almost as small as the preview screen.

YouTube is a universal app available for free on the App Store.
