Alexis Sanchez: Lack of confidence hampering Arsenal’s title chances
Goalkeeper Petr Cech suffered a calf problem and will sit out Saturday’s Tottenham trip, with Wenger also confirming Laurent Koscielny will miss out with a calf problem of his own.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that if the Gunners don’t win the Premier League title this season, the identity of whichever club does is not important to him, even if it’s fierce north London rivals Tottenham. “He will not play on Saturday”, said the Arsenal boss. It’s a muscular problem, a calf problem and I don’t know how long he will be out for.
Henry, who is an Arsenal academy coaching staff, had said he has never seen the fans so angry after the midweek defeat to Swansea in an English Premier League (EPL) encounter.
Arsenal have dropped 15 points since leading the Premier League table on 2 January, and have won just two of their past eight league games. It’s a very disappointing result. “We have to respond”. “If you say that to me, then yes, because we want to win it”. And of course analyse it well, and bounce back.
“I am worrying about our results”, he said.
“But nobody expected them to lose at home to a Swansea team who had rested a lot of their best players”.
“At the moment we don’t dream, we are realistic”.
“We have to focus on our job and come back reminding ourselves that we have some quality as well”. “We made mistakes. It was hard in the first 20 minutes”. That said, we lack a certain hunger.
Do you think Wenger should be sacked if Arsenal don’t win the title this year? We have to swallow that and bounce back.
“He’s been struggling for a week or so, but he’s turned up for training and helped pick the team with the changes”.
“It should give us the confidence to know we can beat a team that’s going for the title so we can beat anyone”.

The Gunners are in danger of failing dramatically and a top-four place does not look guaranteed anymore in this most remarkable of seasons where the underdogs are overachieving. “We can be positive in the dressing room, and be confident ahead of Saturday’s game”. “We had our backs to the wall but I thought we played really well”.
