Carmelo Anthony Says Heckling Apology was Team’s Idea
Right now it’s a rough patch for me.

A frustrated Carmelo Anthony said that it has been hard to deal with a “rough patch” with the New York Knicks over the past three seasons while peers like LeBron James and Chris Paul have enjoyed success. They have won only one playoff series since 2000.
Carmelo Anthony says the decision to issue an apology for his interaction with a fan was made by Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan. “I’m trying to figure out a way to get out of it”. “Ask for your money back”, Anthony responded to the fan, as noted by Ian Begley of ESPN.com. That forced the star to release an apology, which he said was not his idea. “At that point I was trying to gather myself and I turned around, all I did was point at Dolan and told him, ‘Look, the owner’s right there”. That, of course, started talk that there was a lot of disconnect between Anthony and the Knicks’ front office.
This season falls right in line with most of Anthony’s previous years in NY.
The 31-year-old now holds a no-trade clause in his contract. Anthony had that chance prior to re-signing with NY.
An NBA executive believes that Anthony would be worth a lot in a trade and that the Knicks should consider the idea. The guy wants to have his cake and eat it too in NY, you can’t really blame him for that, and it is disappointing that this roster can’t even approach a middling state in the still-dodgy Eastern Conference.
All told, the Knicks added a little more star power this season in the form of Kristaps Porzingis.

“I just accept it”, he said.
