Trump in the Hot Seat: Republican Debate By the Numbers
Trump’s success on Tuesday sparked the latest round of hand-wringing by Republican groups and figures, weighing whether to get on board the Trump train or do whatever they can to derail it.

The runaway front-runner to date has been immune from criticism that other politicians normally face, for instance, over flip-flopping on issues. During a campaign stop in Virginia on Sunday, Rubio made a reference to the real estate tycoon’s hand size – implying that another part of his body was also small. “I guarantee you, there’s no problem”, Trump said, getting a loud, sustained response from the crowd and setting a unusual tone for the start of the debate. And he referred to my hands as if they’re small, something else may be small.
Have we, the voters of the USA, forgotten that when Donald Trump first announced his intent to run for president he was pushed to support the Republican candidate?
“He choked like I’ve never seen anyone choke”, he told a rally in Maine, which holds its Republican primary on Saturday. “Donald has mocked everyone and has done so to people on this stage”, Marco said. “He is really not that much of a lightweight”. The Fox News moderators continuously asked Donald Trump and Sens.
Instead it was Cruz who has argued this is now a two-man race, pointing to his wins in Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa and later Alaska over Trump.
“We are not going to turn over the conservative movement … to someone whose positions are not conservative … to someone who thinks the nuclear triad is a rock band from the 1980s”, Rubio said. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson admitted this week he had no path to victory and wouldn’t participate in the debate, though he hasn’t explicitly ended his campaign just yet. “Sometimes you ask for more than you want”.

It seemed the candidates had finally hit rock bottom last week, when Donald Trump and Marco Rubio swung back and forth at each other over spray tans, heavy sweating, and pants-wetting.
