Families of 12 passengers on Flight 370 file lawsuits
An global aviation agreement allows each next-of-kin of passengers on board a plane up to 175,000 U.S. dollars (£123,000) in compensation, but a plaintiff filing a lawsuit can seek more.

“It never occurred to me that I would find something like this here”.
“I’m not surprised that he pursued this mysterious disappearance of the plane”, said Vladimir Gololobov, who described his friend as eccentric, bright and kind.
“At the same time he loves to travel and meet people”.
“Voice370 urges authorities to press on and search on in the current search area”, said Voice370. Authorities chose the Dutch firm Fugro Survey to carry out the Indian Ocean search. The same mail was sent to the families of people, who were aboard that flight.
But Gibson said he wants “to exercise caution”.
MH370 captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, whose sister says has unjustly been accused of hijacking the plane.
Last year, Pattiaratchi met with Gibson. Many families of the victims mark the anniversary with memorials.
Authorities hope finding a crash site could lead to recovery of the Boeing 777’s black boxes and possibly clues to what happened.
It added that the location of the debris was consistent with the drift modelling commissioned by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau and reaffirms the search area for MH370 in the southern Indian Ocean.
“It is too early to speculate on the origin of the debris at this stage”, Australian Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Darren Chester told parliament.
The triangular piece has since been shipped to Australia for examination by worldwide specialists and officials from Malaysia.
The part is believed to measure 35 inches by 22 inches.
“He said he had been walking on the beach two days ago and found the piece near Vilankulo, on a sand bank called Paluma near Benguerra Island (part of the Bazaruto archipelago)”.
The plane part seen from different angles.
The debris includes a fastener, which an executive at the fastener company, LISI Aerospace, said is a pretty standard part.
The families of 12 passengers aboard missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 filed suits against the airline on Friday before a two-year deadline for legal action expires.
Still, some family members of those on board remain skeptical.
All the plaintiffs said the airline and the authorities had breached their obligations to provide a safe flight.
“To identify the debris, a capable professional institution is needed, the next step we will contact with worldwide organizations, through diplomatic channels, to find those who have interests in analyzing the debris”, said Abreu. If confirmed to be from MH370, the debris would mark only the second shred of physical evidence in one of aviation’s great mysteries.
However, the minister said whether it belongs to MH370 is yet to be confirmed, calling on everyone to “avoid undue speculation as we are not able to conclude that the debris belongs to MH370 at this time”. The part is being transported to Malaysia.
Debris found in Thailand in mid-January turned out not to be from MH370. It vanished from radar in airspace over the Gulf of Thailand.
Unless the debris originated from one of two recently written-off Boeing 777s, the probability that it did come from 9M-MRO (MH370’s model name) is now much higher.
Voice 370, a family support ground, said an event would be held at The Square in Publika, Kuala Lumpur.

Liow said officials from Australia’s embassy in Mozambique had been dispatched to retrieve the new object.
