Mitt Romney: ‘I’m Not Running for President’
Mitt Romney will speak Thursday on “the state of the 2016 presidential race”, he said in a press release.

Underlying the clash is a bleak reality for panicking Republican officials: beyond harsh words, there is little they see to stop Trump’s march toward the presidential nomination.
Local supporters of the billionaire agree.
Mr Cruz said he would prefer Mr Trump to either of the Democratic contenders, Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, describing the latter as a “socialist”.
Romney embraced what might seem a long-shot approach to deny Trump the delegates necessary to secure the nomination.
Mr Trump said: ” I’ve supported Democrats and I’ve supported Republicans, and as a businessman I owed that to my company, to my family, to my workers, to everybody to get along”.
“I’m not running for president, and I won’t run for president”, Romney said.
“He disappeared, he choked, something went wrong with him and I wasn’t happy about it and neither were a lot of other people”, Trump said.
Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (L) and Donald Trump shake hands during a news conference held by Trump to endorse Romney for president at the Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas February 2, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In February 2012, the two shared the stage in Las Vegas as Romney accepted Trump’s endorsement. Trump said in a tweet.
House Speaker Paul Ryan repeatedly declined to attack GOP front-runner Donald Trump on Thursday, but didn’t rule out future criticism when he feels “conservatism is being disfigured”.
While the university did have an A rating at one time, Trump’s comments didn’t include the whole story.
But a spokeswoman for Ryan, who has previously rejected calls to run for President, said on Friday he is “flattered, but not interested”. Romney defended his decision to accept and seek Trump’s endorsement.
Cruz got into the mix, too, saying that while it’s easy to print campaign slogans on baseball caps, as Trump does, the question is whether Trump understands what made America great in the first place.

“It really does show the strong divide within the republican party right now between the establishment and the anti-establishment”, said UNCW Assistant Professor of Public International Affairs Aaron King. But I’m going to be supporting that person and doing everything I can to make sure they become the nominee of the party.
