Jump Street & Men In Black 4 crossover is back on
Almost. Following the 2014 Sony email hack, it was revealed that the studio was considering joining the Jump Street franchise with Men in Black, a crossover that almost no one saw coming. Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are producing the crossover along with Neal Moritz. However, given the tone and tenor of the previous raunchy and R-rated Jump Street movies, it is unlikely that this is a Men in Black movie that’s targeting the same exact audience as the previous trilogy. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will definitely not be putting on their black suits for the film, according to Sony executives and Variety’s sources. The flick hasn’t received the official greenlight yet, but it’s moving forward at an alarmingly convincing pace, with reports of screenwriter Rodney Rothman (22 JUMP STREET, David Letterman) already turning in a well-received draft. Regardless, plot details are being kept a secret for now. Bobin cut his teeth as one of the exec producers and directors on HBO series “Flight of the Conchords” before landing “The Muppets” movie at Disney.

James Bobin, who’s helmed The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted, and the incoming Alice Through The Looking Glass, is set to take the job on. Men in Black II followed in 2002, and ten years later, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones returned for Men in Black 3, a time travel adventure that also featured Josh Brolin as a younger Agent K.
