Ben Carson Ends Presidential Campaign
After announcing the suspension of his campaign at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Carson announced that he will joining My Faith Votes, an organization that inspires Christians to vote in elections, in an effort to bring more evangelical voters to the polls.

Carson made his announcement at the Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, Md.
“This is not about a candidate, it is about a cause: that people of faith have a moral responsibility to vote, and if they do they also have a disproportionate effect on the election’s outcome”, Moore said in an email. “I will still continue to be heavily involved in trying to save our nation”, he said.
And he defended Donald Trump to his critics – adding that Mitt Romney’s tear-down of Trump on Thursday would “destroy the unity in the party” and help Democrats.
“It has to be somebody who has demonstrated significant accomplishment in their life”, he said, someone “whose ideas and policies are clear and easy to find”.
“This idea of the field clearing and Republicans rallying around a single candidate to take on Trump isn’t going to happen”, said Stuart Stevens, a senior adviser in 2012 to Mitt Romney. Echoing another failed presidential candidate, Bobby Jindal, Carson warned the crowd of a rising tide of “secular progressivism” creeping into American politics, and explained that he would drop out of the race as a result.
That Carson, 64, came this far in the campaign was an impressive feat considering that he began as a considerable longshot – a retired surgeon who had never sought any public office before he announced his candidacy last spring. “That is going to destroy us”, he said, remarking that it’s “kind of sad” that the press is the only business protected by the Constitution “because they were supposed to be the allies of the people”.
Murray has been a campaign senior adviser, owns TMA Direct and is managing partner of Precision Data Management, firms that provide fundraising services for direct mail and email to voters and broker lists of would-be supporters. “We can’t afford that”, Carson said.

Carson said he will be working on a number of initiatives. He warned that when people don’t vote they are actually voting for the other side.
