UFC 196 breakdown, betting odds and picks

McGregor, the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s 145-pound champion, agreed on short notice to fight replacement opponent Nate Diaz at the 170-pound welterweight limit after 155-pound champion Rafael dos Anjos withdrew last week because of a foot injury.

Jane Wells of CNBC asked McGregor whether $10 million was a reasonable projection for his total income from the fight, and he stated the figure was too low.

The co-main event features a women’s bantamweight title bout between champion Holly Holm and former title challenger Miesha Tate.

It’s go time for tonight’s huge UFC 196 Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz fight on Pay-Per-View (PPV) Saturday night from Las Vegas, Nevada.

McGregor (19-2) ended the almost 5-year reign of Jose Aldo as featherweight champion by knocking out his Brazilian rival in just 13 seconds this past December.

“It’s like I can’t catch a break here”, Edgar told FOX Sports.

There have been plenty of rumors that McGregor could stay at welterweight and take a shot at Robbie Lawler in a fight that would likely headline UFC 200 in July.

“It’s frustrating. It’s like I’m nearly close enough to touch him but not quite yet”.

“I’m going to breeze past the $10 million mark”, the featherweight champion said.

With a run of seven straight victories since joining the UFC three years ago, McGregor is backing up all his talk of taking over the sport and he looks well on course to achieve his targets.

“The only approach I changed is I dug the grave a little bit wider, a little bit longer, for Nate’s skinny, fat, long body”, he said.

“One hundred percent. I am that man. I am the man”, he said.

McGregor and Diaz were again involved in unpleasantries, hurling insults at each other on the stage and having to be separated by UFC president Dana White.
