Trailer released for ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot
Not only do we know that the all-female cast will don similar uniforms to those worn in the original 1984 film, but also we know that proton packs are still their weapon of choice.

Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones (a.k.a. some of comedy’s funniest women) team up to bust ghosts in the new Ghostbusters trailer.
“I didn’t like the idea of (the new Ghostbusters) being handed technology – ‘Here’s how to do this.’ I want to see it developed”, said Feig said. McCarthy plays ghost researcher Abby Yates, Wiig plays physicist Erin Gilbert, McKinnon plays nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzman, and Jones plays subway booth clerk and NY guide Patty Tolan.
Speaking of… the new Ghostbusters released its first trailer on Thursday and its gives us some hints of what’s in store for us later this year. The Thor actor fills in the shoes for the film’s original receptionist Janine Melnitz, played by Annie Potts. As Feig told Ellen DeGeneres, he called up these ladies because they’re “the people who make me cry with laughter”.
After Chris Rock reminded everyone of just how white Hollywood is, filmmakers may feel the pressure to hire more women and minorities. And then I thought, well, what if we just make it new? Though absent from the trailer, original franchise stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver have also committed to walk-on roles.
Feig is a smart choice to helm this sensitive reboot, having had his past three films be female-centric (Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy) and do significantly well among both audiences and critics.
