That is flabbergasting. From a shooting perspective, we’ve never seen anything like it. He’s averaging over seven made 3-pointers a game over this span. To put that in some historical perspective: Only one player has ever averaged over five 3-pointers a game for a season: Stephen Curry.
Durant got off only three shots in fourth quarter, which surely pleased general manager Bob Myers and Kerr.
Curry finished with a game-high 33 points on his return to action after missing Tuesday’s win over the Atlanta Hawks with a sore ankle.
With the home win, the Warriors equaled the longest home winning streak in National Basketball Association history at 44 games, tying the Bulls from 1994-96.
“I’m frustrated because we lost, but I played as hard as I could tonight and I’m going to make mistakes”, Durant said confidently after the loss. They trailed by as many as nine in the third quarter and were down 83-82 entering the final period.
Durant came within one assist of a triple-double, complementing his team-high scoring total with 10 rebounds and nine assists. Durant also added ten boards and nine assists, but also had nine turnovers on the night. The Oklahoma City Thunder have a couple of top-five players on roster, and an elite defender in Serge Ibaka to boot.
Regardless of how solid the Oklahoma City Thunder’s standing in the Western Conference might be, their post-All-Star break struggles have Kevin Durant and company doing some soul searching. In the second meeting within the past week, the Thunder started off hot, but they could not hang on as the Warriors completed the season sweep. “Obviously, the big picture is always the most important, trying to win a championship”.
Warriors remain well on course to beat the Bulls’ record of 72-10 set during the 1995/96 season. “But it’s been that kind of season for us”. The teams went toe-to-toe, matching highlight with highlight, before the Warriors stepped on the gas late in the contest, leaving the Thunder in the dust.
“That’s an wonderful accomplishment”, Curry said after the game.
“Our second unit got us off to a fourth quarter lead and they turned the momentum in our favor”, Curry said.
This time they at least had the excuse of playing a team that doesn’t seem to know how to lose anywhere, let alone at home. Alex Len had 12 points and 13 rebounds for Phoenix, which tied a club record by losing its 17th consecutive road game.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was also a member of those Bulls teams who set both of those records. They bring [out] the best of us and I’m sure that competition is what we all live for.
