Manuel Pellegrini determined to keep Manchester City title bid on track
Vincent Kompany believes Manchester City are back in the groove after revitalising their title challenge with a comprehensive defeat of Aston Villa.

Their poor run of form has seen them fall to fourth in the league, 10 points behind leaders Leicester and only above fifth-placed Manchester United on goal difference, although Manuel Pellegrini’s side do have a game in hand. In return, Caballero ensured that his manager’s last season at the Etihad would not end trophy-less.
City’s Champions League status for next season is under threat, with Pellegrini’s men having allowed Manchester United to draw level on points with them and West Ham just one back.
The Serbian left-back said: “Maybe we have an advantage but the other clubs are doing so well, especially Leicester and Tottenham”.
Aleksandar Kolarov admits City’s title chances are hanging by a thread and will be over if they fail to beat Aston Villa today. But we have a game in hand and we are not going to give up.
The situation was similar after a 3-2 defeat to Liverpool in 2014, but City claimed five wins from their five remaining matches to clinch their second Premier League crown. Now today he might have a awful performance against Liverpool and look to be just going through the motions, but for me this has always been Toure.
“We have the points total we deserve”.
“Of course, when you have your best players, it is better for the team”.
‘For every team, whether they have experience of a title run-in or not, there is a lot of pressure in the last part of the season.
The Belgium defender said: “We can’t make any more mistakes but I didn’t expect all the other teams to lose”. I am not thinking about the title and not thinking about trying to qualify for the next stage of the Champions League.
Rudy Gestede could start after coming off the bench to score in Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat to Everton but Charles N’Zogbia remains out of boss Remi Garde’s plans despite being fit.
I don’t want to say exactly what was talked about but to sum it up it was the exact opposite of what you’re saying.
Kompany said: “It’s been an awkward week but if you actually look at the last four games we’ve won three of them”. “I don’t know [about the future] because I am not thinking about that and neither is Yaya”.
“We didn’t play well”.

“It’s important to win all our games now to stay in the competition to win the league”.
