Some parts of the airport appear to be unaffected by the outage, the report said. Residual delays were expected into late morning or early afternoon.

“Due to current power outages affecting airlines operating in Terminal C, Parking Lots 4 and 5, flight disruptions may result”, LaGaurdia Airport said in an alert posted to its website. As of 6:50 a.m., “this is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 2 hours and 52 minutes”, says the FAA. Atlanta-based Delta said 119 flights had been scrubbed as of 10 a.m. local time.
Three Delta flights from Logan to LaGuardia were cancelled. Power was restored to the terminal jet bridges as of 8:30 a.m. The Port Authority is installing generators to power the jet bridges, which will allow service to resume.
The outage occurred when a contractor accidentally cut two electric feeders that serve the terminal.
