Donald Trump gets a walloping from Ted Cruz
Donald Trump’s voice dominated the Republican presidential debate Thursday night, and it was higher-pitched than usual, as he was kept on the defensive by his opponents and Fox News moderators throughout the night. “I have never heard of this”, Trump said in response to a question.

Calling him a “phony” and a “fraud”, the former standard-bearer of the party said Mr Trump’s policies – like the deportation of undocumented migrants and banning Muslims from entering the USA – would make the world less safe. But the big turnout you are seeing is both pro-Trump and anti-Trump, so there are record numbers of people coming because of Donald Trump, but not just to be for him.
Rubio said during a rally in Virginia on February 29: “You know what they say about guys with small hands, you can’t trust them!” notes Talking Points Memo.
At an earlier news conference, Trump used even more direct language, saying Romney once “begged” for his endorsement during his 2012 presidential run.
Mitt Romney, who came out this week swinging at GOP front-runner Donald Trump, admitted Friday that Trump is the “likely” nominee – but also hinted strongly that a contested convention is “a realistic scenario” that Republicans need to consider.
“I can’t act overly presidential because I’m going to have people attacking from every side”, he told NBC.
Rubio insulted Trump on the campaign trail last week by claiming the business mogul has “small hands” – and by implying that it extends to other parts of Trump’s body.
“Rubio will stay in the race, at least through Florida, hoping that anti-Trump voters coalesce behind him”, Dan Mahaffee, an analyst with the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress, told Xinhua, referring to the Florida senator who hopes to win his home state on the March 15 primaries. While the nomination is within his grasp, rivals led by Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Marco Rubio and others continue to fight to the end.
Mr Romney said later there are “no circumstances” in which he will join the race for the White House.
Mr. Rubio said he would, because he viewed the Democrats as a greater threat. Clinton has attacked controversial Trump before also.
“No, I only made a joke about my hands, I have very powerful hands…”

Sasse has said he would not endorse Trump if he won the Republican nomination.
