The 42-year-old attended a tribunal hearing in south London on Monday, accompanied by her legal team, who have called for Mourinho to apologise for his actions prior to the medic’s departure from the Premier League champions in September.

Chelsea filed their defence in the tribunal hearing in December and another private preliminary hearing was held in January. Her lawyers have also launched a separate but related legal claim against former Chelsea manager Mourinho for alleged discrimination.

Jose Mourinho after the Swansea game had called the club doctor “impulsive and naive” when she and the physio came on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard who was down injured. The two sides are so far apart financially.

The private session, heard in front of a judge, will see if a settlement can be reached between the sides to avoid a potentially embarrassing public hearing in June.

Chelsea’s former physiotherapist, Eva Carneiro would love a public apology from Mourinho.

But away from the boardroom – and into the courtroom – he’s at the centre of an employment tribunal battle.

Statements and documents such as emails and text messages would also be likely to be made public.
