Romney urges Republicans to shun Trump

“It was all about Rubio versus Trump and quietly Cruz put a solid plan in Texas and boy, did he clean up delegates in Texas in a way that was very impressive”.

Republican front-runner Donald Trump said Thursday he is softening his stance on visas for highly-skilled workers. “I think that the American people understand that yelling and cursing at people doesn’t make you a tough guy”, he said.

Mr. Cruz was quick to pile on.

Trump responded calmly at first – perhaps trying to seem more presidential after his big Super Tuesday wins two days earlier. “If there’s anyone who deserved to be attacked it’s Donald Trump”.

Mr. Trump brushed off the controversy around Trump University as a “small civil case” he could settle at any moment, but contended that he “doesn’t settle”. Trump said at the debate, holding up both his hands. Because if the Republican presidential field doesn’t take him out after Thursday night’s debate in Detroit, it’s likely not going to happen. “And he wants to be president of the United States of America”.

Cruz tried to rise above the fray, saying, “This is not about the insults back and forth between the candidates”.

I hate that he said he “didn’t know enough” about the KKK to disavow an endorsement from its former leader – what does he need to know? it’s the KKK!

In the end, Cruz, Rubio and Kasich clenched their teeth and said they would support Trump if he was the party’s presidential nominee.

But Romney dismissed any suggestion that, in the event of a summer deadlock, he would consider entering the ring.

The Ohio governor, who came in second in New Hampshire by running on a moderate message, hasn’t had a single victory in the 2016 election, and some Republicans are accusing Kasich of taking away valuable support from Rubio.

“I think the name calling and that sort of thing basically gets in the way actually addressing the needs of the country”, said Bloom. “I intend to vote for our nominee”.

Efforts by Republicans to slow Mr Trump’s march have so far failed.

A total of 1,237 delegates are required to win the Republican nomination.

Many Republican lawmakers and leading party figures have said they will never support Trump, even if he is the nominee, while others have begun to coalesce behind him.
