Storm to create slight risk for severe weather in Oklahoma

Severe storms, heavy rainfall and flooding are possible throughout Oklahoma as a storm system makes its way through the state.

Spring is only two weeks away, which will also mark the beginning Severe Weather Awareness Week in OH on Sunday, March 20 through March 26, 2016.

In the early goings, reports of wind damage and torrential rainfall have surfaced in parts of Texas from the latest severe weather event.

During the day Monday, temperatures are expected to top out at 58 degrees. Our area has already seen severe weather.

Severe weather is expected to strike San Antonio Monday night into Tuesday followed by more storms, which could be stronger, overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio.

There’s a greater chance for showers and thunderstorms overnight.

Storms will move east in the afternoon. Rain will become widespread overnight into Wednesday and this is when most of the heavy rain will fall. Locally higher amounts – five to six inches – will be possible as rain chances will persist through the end of the week.
