When Kasich told him years ago he was planning to run for governor of Ohio, Schwarzenegger said he told him, “I’ll be back” to support him again.

In early February, Schwarzenegger also lauded Kasich’s accomplishments days before the New Hampshire primary, speaking admiringly of the OH governor, recalls NBC News.

Kasich, wearing a jacket from Schwarzenegger embroidered with the words “Governator II”, said that as president, he would create a team that would ensure economic security in the nation.

On the Republican side, Ohio Gov. John Kasich is visiting frequently, banking that his Midwestern roots will appeal and propel him toward his home state primary.

Although Kasich has not yet won a single primary state, he is expected to do well in Michigan’s March 8 primary, and Ohio’s winner-take-all primary on March 15. Kasich had almost doubled his support from the last poll, while their two rivals were far behind.

Cindy Bond of Columbus said: “I wouldn’t come to see Schwarzenegger”, adding: “But it’s nice”.

The Ohio governor used Friday’s Town Hall at Herman Miller Inc.as an opportunity to appeal to West Michigan voters ahead of Tuesday’s primary, especially since constituents in attendance were anxious that a vote for Kasich could be a wasted vote.

“I don’t think anybody’s going to get that”, Mr. Kasich said.

If they knew more about his background and the kind of people who inspire the work he does, Kasich said, many would be converted to Kasich supporters. “Ted is around 59 or 60, it’s unlikely”, Kasich said. “And we believe If we are able to win OH which I believe we will be able to do it will be a whole new day”.

Marco Rubio is promising he would not nominate a Supreme Court justice in the final year of any four-year term he serves in the White House. Noting “here he is”, Kasich responded to Schwarzenegger’s endorsement by saying, “Thanks, Arnold”.

He said it was “unlikely” any candidate would win the 1,237 delegates before the July convention.
