MS holds its presidential and congressional primaries Tuesday

DeSoto County voters will head to the polls for Mississippi’s Primary on Tuesday, and presidential hopefuls made a last push for votes in the Magnolia State.

Trump spoke to an overflow crowd of several thousand people at a campaign rally Monday evening at Madison Central High School. There’s no charge to hear Trump speak but tickets must be downloaded from the eventbrite.com website. “I urge my fellow Mississippians to join me in standing behind Ted Cruz”.

The governor’s spokesman, Clay Chandler, said in response to a question from The Associated Press last week that Bryant will vote for Trump in November if Trump is the Republican nominee. “Ted Cruz has gone to Washington and showed courage and grit to stand up to things he disagrees with”.

Republican John Kasich has spoken in MS twice in the past month. Marco Rubio hasn’t personally campaigned in the state, but like other candidates, he’s promoting local endorsements.

On the Democratic side, former President Bill Clinton made stop in Jackson to campaign for his wife, Hillary.

This comes as Trump is struggling to beat his Republican opponents.
