A class-action lawsuit stemming from Flint’s lead-contaminated water has been filed on behalf of residents against Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder as well as government officials and corporations.

The alleged misconduct led to “physical and psychological injuries, learning and other permanent disabilities, weight loss, stunted growth, anemia, headaches, abdominal and other pain, mental anguish, emotional distress, the cost of medical, educational, and rehabilitation expenses, and other expenses of training and assistance, loss of income and earning capacity, property damage, destruction of water service lines, and devaluation of property damages”, the suit says.

Today, Michigan Radio reports that the city of Flint is taking out a million loan to pay for replacing lead pipes, with Mayor Karen Weaver saying the city can’t wait on state and federal money that’s been promised.

The EPA is investigating why it failed to do more to address Flint’s water concerns.
