Portal’s world returns in Valve’s ‘The Lab’ VR experiments
The Lab will be “set in a pocket universe” of Portal’s iconic laboratories, and include a compilation of VR experiments and tasters created to give gamers something to play on their new, rather expensive headsets.

In the meantime, we’ll just have to guess as what lengths the company is going to go with this. Valve will officially debut The Lab at The Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco on March 14th. Obviously we can get some hint with the fact that it’s talking about a full room VR experience.
The HTC Vive is due out in Early April, while The Lab has been dated for spring. “More information will be made available next week at GDC”.
Valve also rolled out the SteamVR Performance Test last month, which is a program that gamers interested in VR can use to see if their computer has what it takes to run Vive. As you would expect, these experiments are objective built to showcase the HTC Vive and its Roomscale VR technology.
This isn’t the first time Valve has experimented with VR.
