New Jersey state trooper dies after being hit by vehicle
A New Jersey State Police trooper was seriously injured Monday night in an accident on Interstate 295.

Around 8:15 p.m. Monday, Trooper Sean Cullen, 31, responded to a crash on southbound 295, milepost 23.4 in Deptford Township.

A medical helicopter transported the trooper to Cooper University Hospital.
This story has been corrected to show officer was pronounced dead Tuesday, not Friday. The trooper was conducting a traffic stop when a passing vehicle struck both the trooper and the stopped vehicle. He was stationed at Bellmawr Station and had been a trooper about two years.

The crash investigation remains ongoing. New Jersey State Police Col. Rick Fuentes broke the news of Cullen’s death to those gathered in a waiting room. There have been no charges or tickets against the driver that struck him.
