New data suggests Donald Trump’s lead is slipping among Republican voters, though the billionaire mogul still claims higher popularity than any of his opponents.

Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz has narrowed. Marco Rubio, the senator whom mainstream Republicans rallied behind as the man to topple Trump, trailed in fourth.
The key to a Republican win in the 2016 election might be to persuade the voters of OH and Florida to let the nomination contest play out until the Cleveland convention.
Upward of 80 percent of Mississippi Democratic voters said that they were anxious about the status of the United States’ economy, and those voters broke for Mrs. Clinton, three to one. Marco Rubio, giving Trump and Cruz the one-on-one contest both say they want. Kasich has yet to win a primary but hoped a good showing in MI would give him a boost heading into next week’s crucial contest in his home state.
“It’s not just the whole country that’s watching MI – now the world’s beginning to watch”, Kasich said Monday during a campaign stop in the state. Romney has recently become an outspoken critic of Trump and recorded a phone call on Rubio and Kasich’s behalf.
“I didn’t know it was a problem”, Trump said.
Material from the Associated Press was used in this report.
These demographic attributes – which have helped her to wide victories in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia and SC – held true in MS, where seven in 10 Democratic voters on Tuesday were African-American, and an nearly identical number said that the next president should generally continue Mr. Obama’s policies.
In Michigan Mrs Clinton appeared to have stronger support than Mr Sanders. Michigan, with big college towns and a sizeable population of working-class voters, should be a good fit for him.
Clinton’s lead is based on gender, as she holds a 55-34 percent edge among women.
Democratic rivals Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders were set to battle it out in MI and MS today too. Like Kasich, Florida Sen. But Rubio, 44, lags behind and is seen needing a breakthrough win in his home state next week to keep his campaign alive.
“It has to happen here, and it has to happen now”, Rubio told supporters Tuesday during a rally in Sarasota. He can poison the whole Republican brand, taking Republican members of Congress down with him, along with Republican governors and other state and local officials.
Clinton holds a huge delegate lead and in recent campaign events has talked about a potential matchup against Trump in the November general election. The message goes on to say, “If we Republicans were to choose Donald Trump as our nominee, I believe that the prospects for a safe and prosperous future would be greatly diminished – and I’m convinced Donald Trump would lose to Hillary Clinton”.
So far, there are signs that Trump’s debate antics, his flip-flops, and the consolidation of the GOP field is slowing him down.
“He’s been supporting left-wing politicians for 40 years”, Cruz said.
Going into Tuesday, Trump led Texas Senator Ted Cruz by 82 delegates.
There is a distinct possibility that no candidate can win an outright majority (1,237) of delegates before the convention.
Among Democrats, Clinton had accumulated 1,134 delegates and Sanders 499, including superdelegates.
