Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge vs Apple iPhone 6s Plus: Drop Test

Samsung Electronics Co. showcased the latest flagship smartphones in India on Tuesday, which come with relatively affordable price tags compared to their predecessors. The new S7 and S7 edge will cost Rs 48,900 and Rs 56,900 respectively. On top of that, Samsung has opened pre bookings from today onwards and all those who preorder it, till 17 March, would get a free VR headset!

As a quick recap, the Galaxy S7 comes with a 5.1-inch display while the Galaxy S7 edge boasts a 5.5-inch display. Both are powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM.

It’s reported that the expected Samsung Galaxy S7 price in India is Rs. 49,000.

After being announced recently at MWC 2016, this week sees the widespread release of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge.

The processer and battery capacity of 3,000mAh in Galaxy S7 and 3,600mAh in Galaxy S7 Edge ensure longer playing time, and the internal cooling system keeps the device from overheating.

Samsung had already sent out the media invites for the launch event. The devices are IP 68 certified, which makes them water and dust resistant. The Galaxy S7 comes with 32GB of inbuilt memory, which can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card slot.

For Samsung, India is very important market and they are the leaders in smartphones segment in India. Another welcome change is the hybrid microSD slot which allows users to use the slot either as a second SIM slot or a microSD slot to expand storage up to 200 GB.

Manu Sharma, director mobile at Samsung India, said along with curated services, S7 customers will get to jump the queue at around 400 service centres and will also have pickup and drop facility with the option of getting a standby device if needed.

According to Samsung, the 12 MP rear camera, which is equipped with an aperture of f/1.7, dual pixel technology and optical image stabilisation, will offer unparalleled low-light performance. The Super AMOLED displays on both devices support Quad HD resolutions and have the ability to remain “always on”.
