Tacoma Public Schools told KCPQ that Klara Bowman, a kindergarten teacher, had alcohol in her classroom and was seen walking into walls. The report includes text messages sent from Bowman to that co-worker, instructing her where to find several bottles of alcohol in the classroom and asking the other teacher to throw the bottles away before someone else finds them.
The 32-year-old kindergarten instructor at Larchmon Elementary School in Tacoma, Washington was sacked for being drunk on the job. They also say this wasn’t the first time she had an issue with alcohol.
Bowman’s employment was terminated last week after an investigation into the incident, according to school officials. McMinimee said an empty coffee travel mug was found in Bowman’s classroom that smelled of alcohol. “My two girls had her as a teacher this year”. At that time, she was required to sign a “last chance” agreement.
“What example is that setting for our children?” asked Jeni Brown, the parent of two students at Larchmont Elementary School in Tacoma. We are now in the process of hiring the most qualified teacher to lead the class through the end of the school year. “We don’t know what’s happening personally we don’t know what’s happening in her own life. But we can’t condemn her because she is such a great teacher”.
Bowman filed an appeal to her termination on Thursday.
A student in Bowman’s class noticed she was acting strangely, so he complained.

The school district’s attorney told the News Tribune Newspaper that Bowman is appealing the decision.
