Samsung Electronics will start selling its latest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, on March 8 in India, just 15 days after their global launch on February 21. Samsung also boasts that they were the first smartphone with dual-pixel technology and a 12-megapixel camera that has instant autofocus and a new advanced sensor, even in low light. These introductory offers are available until 15 April. With the launch of the new flagship phones, Samsung continues its tradition of bringing its new phones to India around the same time when it launches them globally.

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge at the Galaxy Unpacked event held on February 21st in Barcelona. Customers can pre-order the devices at the Smart website or at the Smart Stores located in SM Megamall, Rockwell, SM North Edsa, SM Rosales, SM Mall of Asia, SM Cebu and SM Davao.
“Samsung will have a lot more competition this time, with the rumoured iPhone 5Se coming in the time of the year when Apple is usually slow, and LG’s G5 and Xiaomi’s Mi 5, which are going to be aggressive in terms of pricing and positioning”, said Tarun Pathak, senior analyst, Counterpoint Research. Adding IP68 certification on the Galaxy S7, it translates to the smartphone being completely dust-resistant and partially water-resistant.

One early Galaxy S7 Edge owner, who reported his findings in this thread over at the XDA Developers forum, appears to have tested his phones’ water-resistance already and uncovered another new feature in the process.
It will be a short while before we see the final details of the next Galaxy smartphone so expect some details to be revealed before the release date.
