Florida looms after second win for Marco Rubio

Fresh misgivings about Rubio’s path forward are the latest in a series of obstacles that threatens the Florida senator’s future in this roller-coaster Republican campaign, with a must-win March 15 primary looming in his home state.

Flint, Michigan, is suffering a contaminated water crisis, and Clinton said she had asked that Sunday night’s debate be held in that city. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., speaks in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, on Saturday.

‘Many of the states that voted tonight are states that, quite frankly, some of my opponents just do better in, and I recognized that going in, ‘ he said.

What you need to understand is all of these states are awarding these delegates by proportion.

The representatives of the political party estimated that over 30 000 people had voted on Sunday. Rubio will have 151 delegates if he wins every available slot in Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico Republicans will add their voices to the conversation on Sunday, as will Maine Democrats. The results for the vote of some 6,000 inmates, held Friday will not be known until Wednesday.

In addition, in Puerto Rico, Rubio was running against a Republican frontrunner who has, seemingly, done everything he possibly could to alienate Hispanic voters by railing against Hispanic immigrants.

Clinton says: “We want to continue to shine a bright spotlight on what happened in that community”. The delegates will be allocated proportionately to those candidates who collect at least 20 percent of the vote. There are 23 delegates at stake for the Republicans in Puerto Rico.

Trump triumphed in Louisiana and Kentucky on Saturday and is retaining his delegate lead in the chase for the nomination. They point to the 2012 GOP primary when eventual nominee Mitt Romney surged past Newt Gingrich in part on the strength of $8.8 million in anti-Gingrich ads by a pro-Romney group.

Puerto Ricans on the island, however, can’t vote for president in the general elections. It takes 1,237 delegates to win the Republican nomination for president.

The result came the day after Ted Cruz and Donald Trump each captured two victories in a four-state round of voting in the Republican race for the White House.

This goes to show how the battered presidential hopeful’s image is gradually changing into one that presents hope.
