FACT CHECK: Trump overstates Rubio’s absenteeism in Senate
Among Florida likely Republican primary voters, Trump leads Rubio 39 – 27 percent among women and 50 – 17 percent among men. With Ben Carson having basically announced his presidential run is over, the presidential race is down to four: Trump, Rubio, Cruz, and Ohio Governor John Kasich.

Trump’s campaign labeled the Florida senator a “corrupt, all-talk, no-action politician”, noting years-old revelations that Rubio put thousands of personal charges, including airline tickets, on campaign and Florida Republican Party credit cards. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., appers at a campaign rally in Topeka, Kan., Friday, March 4, 2016.
Marco Rubio spoke to an enthusiastic crowd of about 1,000 people at the Tampa Convention Center Monday night, vowing not only to stay in the race for president, but saying he’s the only Republican candidate who can beat front-runner Donald Trump.

That Rubio performed so poorly does not come as much of a surprise, as his polling numbers were low in both MI and Idaho. “He’s been clear that he believes that Donald Trump is not the best person to represent the Republican Party and will do what he can to support a strong nominee who holds conservative values to win back the White House”.

Marco Rubio and Texas Sen.
In fact, the poll reveals 31 percent of Republican voters are now more likely to vote for Trump because of Romney’s speech, while 20 percent are less likely.
Geoff Diehl, cochair of the Trump campaign in MA, says, Romney and other members of the “Anyone But Trump” camp don’t seem to have their finger on the pulse of the electorate.
According to an article written by CNN, Romney said, “Here’s what I know: Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. For instance, it appears that if Rubio were to drop out, 3/4 of his votes would go to Kasich, probably giving him the lead. He isn’t in the running whatsoever in OH, where Kasich is nipping at Trump’s heels.
At this point in the election, Rubio is “struggling to be the alternative to Trump”. His lead over Cruz grew by only 15 delegates Tuesday.

Due to Florida’s large population and diverse demographics – it’s a state filled with areas that can be rural or urban, extremely rich or extremely poor, Southern or Northern – the state is notoriously hard to survey, said Matt Corrigan, another University of North Florida professor.
