After the suspension was announced Friday, the Vikings signed veteran cornerback Josh Thomas to bolster their depth. He can participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games, as reported by the NFL.

He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge, paying a $300 fine and agreeing to 30 days of house arrest.

The cornerback also released a statement through the NFLPA. “I can assure you that it will never happen again”. “The medication is not a substance which would enhance my on-field performance in any way and I genuinely was unaware that it was prohibited, but players are responsible for what is in their bodies”. The Cedar Hill, Texas, native spent training camp with the Carolina Panthers and then saw action in the regular season with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and Detroit Lions.

His best season was in 2013, when he started six of the 13 games in which he played and intercepted one pass. He recorded 10 tackles in his first season. Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes, Terence Newman and Captain Munnerlyn are the top four as it stands right now (with Munnerlyn likely functioning exclusively in a slot capacity), but there’s going to be quite a fight to get the last spot (or two).
