Aziz said the release of the detained fishermen would be expedited and expressed hope that India would agree to the draft.
Pakistan has sent a “memorandum” to India to expedite the release of fishermen held in the two countries as agreed to between prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his counterpart Narendra Modi during their meeting in Ufa past year.
During the talks, Britain and Pakistan also reviewed the security situation in Afghanistan, including the reconciliation process.
Hammond also lauded Pakistan’s role in the fight against terrorism and said his country would continue to support Pakistan in the war on terror.
Replying to another question regarding the names and designation of persons against whom complaints had been received during the present posting in Pakistan Embassy or Mission in Thailand, the adviser in a written reply said no complaint had been received against any officers and staff mentioned.
Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz informed the Senate on Tuesday that Pakistan’s nuclear technology is for its own deterrence and it will not share it with any other country under any circumstances. Aziz said the two countries would be holding next round of their strategic dialogue in the next few weeks.
Aziz said that Pakistan also shared intelligence with India about possible terror attacks. He said they discussed bilateral investment and trade and appreciated UK’s assistance in the fields of education and health.
He said the development of the North-South energy route and East-West trade routes to China would boost economic activity.

Settling the Kashmir issue should not be a precondition for starting the dialogue process between the two countries, Hammond said during a joint news conference with Pakistan foreign policy chief Sartaj Aziz.
