Leafs To Host Red Wings In 2017 Centennial Classic
The NHL has announced that the Toronto Maple Leafs will play host to the Detroit Red Wings in the first-ever NHL Centennial Classic on January 1, 2017.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are tentatively expected to celebrate their centennial season by hosting the Detroit Red Wings at newly renovated BMO Field on New Year’s Day.
The Los Angeles Kings, another team celebrating 50 seasons, will hold the all-star game. The Leafs and Wings last outdoor game at The Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan set a world record for largest outdoor hockey game with around 105,000 in attendance.
Additional details surrounding the game – including broadcast and ticketing information – will be announced in the coming months. P.A. On February 18, the Pittsburgh Penguins will host the Philadelphia Flyers in a Stadium Series game at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The Wings are 2-0-1 playing outdoors since 2009. The 23-year-old, who scored his first National Hockey League goal on Monday night, shoveled a rebound past Greiss following a point shot from Leafs defenceman Martin Marincin.
