Porsche is expanding its line-up of compact SUVs with a new variant of the Macan.

First introduced when the 911 facelift arrived, the new PCM gets a user interface that’s more smartphone-like and controlled by touch or proximity sensor, with Apple CarPlay new and improved Sat Nav, Bluetooth, USB and SD connectivity as well as the option (at a cost) to add the Connect Plus module which improve real time traffic information and adds a Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Power comes by way of a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

“With demand of the turbocharged six-cylinder Macan S, Macan S Diesel, Macan Turbo and recently announced Macan GTS still high in Australia, PCA has elected to delay the introduction of the new Macan four-cylinder until not before calendar year 2017”, it said. The 2.0L engine makes 252hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. But the 2017 Macan will be available in the USA so that is a bonus. The Macan can reach 60mph in 6.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package with Launch Control. The model also has a fuel economy rating of 20 miles per gallon city, 25 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. The auto distinguishes itself visually by way of blacked-out window trim, black brake calipers, and stainless-steel exhaust tips, while the front fascia is identical to that of the Macan S. Standard equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, power front seats, lane-departure warning, and black interior trim.
