Tottenham Hotspur Are Premier League Title Favourites: Claudio Ranieri

While disappointed to drop two points, Ranieri hailed his side’s performance and believes they can still challenge for the title.

The result means Tottenham can move to the top of the table on goal difference if they beat West Ham on Wednesday.

Leicester, who had spent most of the match besieging West Brom’s goal, will reflect ruefully on efforts from Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki that struck the woodwork and Leonardo Ulloa nearly scored in the dying seconds just as he had against Norwich.

“It was a hard-earned point against the league leaders and I’m delighted with our performance”, said Pulis.

Alli kicked the ground during the warm-up before Tottenham’s win over Swansea on Sunday and while he played the whole 90 minutes of the match, he was later seen limping heavily when he left the stadium.

“You can’t always get the three points but our performance was fantastic”. I think we learned a lot and improved in our way, and only we need to fight in every game and keep the same mentality.

“Tonight wasn’t the right moment, but we are alive and we fight to the end”, Ranieri said.

Though we are in the midst of the proverbial “business end” of the season, the naysayers will still suggest Claudio Ranieri’s men are incapable of winning the Premier League trophy. If you remember, at the beginning of the season I started with those two as central midfielders because they’d played together for a long time.

“But we knew they wanted to play on the counter attack and they are very strong on the counter and at set plays”.

“We are confident that we can repeat the final leg like last season”.

He said: “I don’t ban (any title talk)”.

Chelsea scored the fastest goal in the Premier League this season when Brazilian Kenedy netted after 39 seconds in their 2-1 win over relegation-threatened Norwich City at Carrow Road on Tuesday. ‘Then, we didn’t create many chances but won that match – we created very little.

“We are the surprise, that is fantastic, a good energy, but if we are realistic the real competitors are Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham”. Tonight we created a lot of chances but we drew the match.
