In one of the best basketball games I’ve ever seen, in what some are calling the NBA game of the year, the Oklahoma City Thunder played Golden State (which has only lost 5 games all season) and actually led for most of the game. He went on to hit the absurd game-winner with less than a second remaining in overtime to give the Warriors their 53rd win.

Tuesday’s contest is the first for the Warriors since their dramatic win Saturday, one that Curry had to leave for about six minutes of game time before returning and eventually becoming the hero. They now will rest up and await another battle with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. Curry, however, appears more concerned with the Warriors’ chances of repeating as champions in a league that is getting better with each passing year. The game pitted the NBA’s top two teams in assists, with the Warriors (29.1 per game) enjoying a healthy lead over the Hawks (25.5) for the top spot. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Shaun Livingston. “We didn’t have shots go in for us, but we didn’t let it hang our heads”.

Thompson, whose short jumper with 11.4 seconds remaining secured the narrow win, led the Warriors with 26 points on a night when he shot just 8-for-27.

They got a team-high 26 points from Klay Thompson, while Draymond Green nearly had a triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists.

Defensively, Oklahoma City has been bad since the All-Star break, giving up an average of 111.7 points in seven games, with the over cashing four times for totals bettors. He also tied Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall for the single-game record with 12 3-pointers and broke his own record for 3-pointers in a season, setting the new mark at 288.
