Iran will ‘never stop’ its ballistic-missile programme

“The missile launches over the past few days represent a clear violation of Security Council Resolution 2231, which adopted the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers”, it said.

“We will continue to redouble our efforts with our allies and partners in the region to try to limit Iran’s ability to continue to develop their missile program”, Earnest said at a daily White House press briefing.

When U.N. sanctions on Iran were lifted in January, the Security Council’s Iran sanctions committee was shut down. “The IRGC has never accepted the U.N. Security Council resolutions on Iran’s missile work”.

Ban Ki Moon made the call in reaction to ballistic missile tests carried out this week by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), his spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on March 10. The statement from the official comes as IRGC test-fired several ballistic missiles over the last two days, challenging a United Nations resolution and a nuclear deal, under which the country agreed to limit its nuclear program to get relief from economic sanctions.

The IRGC maintains dozens of short and medium-range ballistic missiles, the largest stock in the Middle East.

The two diplomats, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the tests, said the council still has to consider the reported launches and if verified determine whether it is a violation and if so what action to take.

On Tuesday, Iran fired another ballistic missile called Qiam from silo-based launchers in different locations across the country.

Hajizadeh said Iran had no intention of starting a war, “but the Zionist regime (Israel) is our enemy and we don’t trust American officials”. “The decision bars Iran from firing missiles that have the capability to carry a nuclear warhead – which are precisely the missiles they fired”. “Missile power is one of Iran’s rights and it does not contradict any laws or global agreements”, Ramadan Shari continued.

“We have massive stockpiles of ballistic missiles waiting for orders and ready to hit targets at any moment from various points across the country”, Salami said.
