As the Olympic gold-medalist walked off the field after the first pitch Friday afternoon, her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs long-snapper Andrew East, got down on one knee and proposed at Wrigley Field.
Johnson, 23, was at the Cubs game with fellow Team USA gymnast Alicia Quinn to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Cubs vs. Phillies game. A stunned Johnson put her hands over her mouth, bobbed her head up and down, then jumped into his arms. Shawn wrote to her 455k Twitter followers, sharing the good news.
“Today the love of my life asked me to be his forever.AND I SAID YES!” she posted.
Johnson, a year-old native of West Des Moines, Iowa, earned an Olympic gold medal on the balance beam in 2008 at Beijing.

The next year, Johnson was crowned a “Dancing with the Stars” champion alongside Mark Ballas.
