It was their first year in office and Nancy Reagan made a decision to completely change the decór of the White House, as well as the functions within it. She loved her husband more than anything in the world and I think that you could make the case that the Ronald Reagan that we came to know … would not have existed without Nancy Reagan.
“Our nation has lost a national treasure with the passing of Nancy Reagan”, they wrote of the former first lady, President Ronald Reagan’s wife.
Nancy Reagan was known for her “Just Say No” to drugs campaign while serving as first lady. “I was devastated I’ve cried a lot”, Samples said. “I have seen her cope bravely with life’s most hard challenges, exuding grace and dignity and strength”.
Graham said he believes one of Nancy’s best qualities was her “steadfast and loyal support for her husband”.
“By the mid 1980s she really was one of the most popular first ladies in modern history”.
“She’s going to be remembered for her love of President Reagan and her commitment to him regardless of whatever he was facing”, Humphrey said.
Obama ordered flags at federal buildings and military bases to be flown at half staff Monday in honor of Mrs. Reagan, who died Sunday at the age of 94.
Reagan will be buried next to her husband, Ronald Reagan, who was the 40th president of the United States.
As part of the official events, Reagan will lay in repose at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Wednesday, March 9 from 1:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. and also on Thursday, March 10 from 10:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m.
Barun sat down with Channel 9 Sunday after learning of Nancy’s death and reminisced about his long-time friendship with the former First Lady.
She was his indispensable partner in the White House, as she had been when he was Governor of California.

“You’d always hear him say in the middle of them, ‘Oh, hi Nancy!’ because she was eavesdropping on all their conversations”, said Gabriel.
