Unlike previous seasons that showcased Claire and Frank manipulating their way to the top of the political system, season three centered around the dissolution of the Underwoods’ marriage. House of Cards was subsequently broadcast on Canal Plus for three seasons.
And as usual, with new season comes new characters to welcome to the group. Frank Underwood must convince a skeptical American electorate that he’s the best man to lead the country, in his bid to become President.
One of the appealing aspects of the role is that Campbell is able to play a powerful female character. House of Cards is the culmination of his acting career, yet it seems as if Robin Wright will capture viewer’s attention this time. He promised her he would make her vice president if she joined the presidential race.
Frank Underwood back on the campaign trail. Simultaneously, Frank’s chief of staff, Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly), murdered Rachel Posner (Rachel Brosnahan), a former prostitute linked to one of Frank’s season one schemes. Also, he’s going to have a new nemesis in the name of Claire. Hence, in an act of revenge she may also stand as a candidate for the Presidential election, thus hampering his re-election chances in a major way, according to Entertainment Weekly.

It’s interesting to note that as more shows and movies think small (say “Room” ), in Shakespeare’s time the hoi polloi went to the theater to take them away from all that.
