A former Deadliest Catch producer, Joe McMahon, was shot and killed on Friday, July 24, outside of his Pasadena, Calif., home.

Joe McMahon was pronounced dead at the scene.
The young man worked as an associate producer on nine episodes of the 2013 season of “Deadliest Catch”, a Discovery Channel reality show that follows Alaskan crab fishing crews in the cold waters of the Bering Sea.
Early Friday morning, law enforcement received calls about possible shots fired in the neighborhood of Chapman Woods.
Deputies found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the street, according to Deputy Sara Rodriguez.
Authorities have not verified media reports that the man was shot outside his home.
The reasons for the attack still remain a mystery and those investigating the case told LA’s ABC 7 that Joe had stepped out shortly before the tragedy occurred.
Family members identified the victim as McMahon, and said that he worked on “Deadliest Catch”.
Lt. Holly Francisco told the station: ‘We do know that he did leave the house right before the shooting.

Neighbors reported hearing several gunshots, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Witnesses said they heard gunshots and the sound of a vehicle speeding away. Authorities do not believe drugs were involved, and there is no indication that McMahon had any gang affiliation.
