Later Saturday, at a rally in Cleveland where protesters sporadically interrupted him, Trump predicted that the images of Chicago would only embolden his supporters. Secret Service agents briefly rushed the stage to form a protective circle around Trump after a man leapt over a barricade and charged toward the billionaire businessman.

Sanders, too, spoke out again Trump and said he did not think his supporters were inciting violence. One of the leaders of the protest was a Sanders surrogate, 20-year-old Ja’Mal D Green, who describes the night as a “win”. The Chicago rally came ahead of five primary elections on Tuesday, including contests in OH and IL.
“Trump represents everything America is not and everything Chicago is not”, said Kamran Siddiqui, 20, a student at the school.
The Sanders campaign said there was no evidence any Sanders campaign staff was involved in organizing the protests, and Sanders did not apologize on Saturday for the unrest.

He said there were many different people and groups collaborating on what to do and how to conduct the protest. Trump said he hadn’t wanted to cancel the event but did so over safety concerns. After the cancellation, Trump appeared in a rally in St. Louis, Missouri earlier on Friday during which protests forced the front-runner to halt his speech repeatedly.
