Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “explanation” over how business tycoon Vijay Mallya could leave the country which he claimed was not possible without “approval” from the top.

The decision in this regard was pronounced by 14th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate GS Ramesh Kumar. After Mallya’s exit in March, this is the first time he has spoken to any media. Last year, the investigating agency issued a notice to airports asking for Mr Mallya to be detained if he tried to board an worldwide flight. But I didn’t “escape ” . Why am I being portrayed as a criminal now?
“Since he has given services to many, some allowed him to take loans, while others let the money drown”.
The row comes as India’s state-run banks face growing pressure to step up recovery of a mountain of bad loans. They decide we don’t.
He owns other businesses in industries ranging from chemicals to information technology. “I’m forced to go into hiding and that makes me sick” . “I have the best intentions and I fear my words will be twisted like of others”.
Meanwhile, the Congress has asserted that the liquor baron was “made to abscond” since a lot of “powerful” people would be in trouble if he opened his mouth.
Mallya said last month that he planned to move to Britain to be closer to his children and he is understood to regularly stay at a £3m, 30-acre property guarded by CCTV cameras in the Hertfordshire village of Tewin.
Rubbishing reports that he had fled to London, the United Breweries group chairman said that he had full faith in the Indian judicial system and “respects and will comply with the law of the land ” .
Asked whether it was right to say that Mallya has fled the country, Gowda said, “As per the tweets which he posted, he is willing to cooperate with various wings of the government and judiciary to solve the problem”.

“If government has a secret understanding or is handling the issue through back channels, it owes a duty to place the same in public domain”, they said. Few days later a consortium of banks approached the Supreme Court for his passport to be impounded as Mallya is facing legal proceedings for alleged loan defaults by his group to the tune of over Rs 9000 crore. But no trial from the media, ” he said.
