“Already, some said that Ronald Reagan would be remembered in history books for one thing beyond all else: He was the man who had let Aids rage through America, the leader of the government that when challenged to action had placed politics above the health of the American people”. “And because of both President and Mrs. Reagan, in particular Mrs. Reagan, we started a national conversation, when before nobody would talk about it”, the Democratic presidential candidate said in an interview on MSNBC before attending Mrs. Reagan’s funeral Friday. “Nobody wanted anything to do with it”.
Clinton’s comments Friday during the former First Lady’s funeral exploded online drawing great anger, pain, and upset among millions who lost loved ones to the disease.
She faced a swift and fierce backlash, and issued a contrite apology within hours. For that, I’m sorry”, Clinton said in a statement.
Woodruff told People: ‘She remained as sharp as ever and was aware of just about everything going on in Washington and in politics, but always was interested in knowing more.
Reached out for help.
Big star. Rock Hudson was one of the biggest movie stars of his day.
Pledging to do more to fight HIV, Clinton mentioned a range of policy proposals in her blog post, largely ones she’s already made, including clamping down on price gouging for AIDS medicines, capping out-of-pocket expenses, calling on Republican Governors to extend Medicaid, and expanding access to PrEP, the drug that can effectively limit the spread of the disease.
Lee praised Nancy’s pioneering “Just Say No” campaign and her later support for stem-cell research for Alzheimer’s, adding, “You were a woman ahead of your time, and you will never be forgotten”.
“Occasionally I’ve thought that even God might not have the guts to argue with Nancy Reagan”, quipped the couple’s daughter, Patti Davis.
Clinton’s remark raised eyebrows online, including those of Clinton supporter and president of the Human Rights Campaign Chad Griffin.
The guest list featured members from 10 former and current presidential families including current First Lady Michelle Obama, former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, and Laura Bush.

“There is no doubt in my mind that Hillary Clinton is very exhausted and committed a gaff”, Ms Domi said on Facebook. “That is good enough for me”.
