Director General of IMD, LS Rathore said, a western disturbance is active over the North west India which will cause thunderstorm with strong winds and isolated hailstorm.
Asking people to take a resolution for a clean Yamuna, Mishra announced the conclusion of the three-day mega event saying “Jai Yamuna Maiya”. “India has a cultural legacy that the whole world is looking at”.
The Supreme Court yesterday refused to entertain a plea seeking its stay on the three-day event.
The Narendra Modi government threw its weight behind Sri Sri Ravi Shankar with a posse of party heavyweights, including Cabinet ministers, party president Amit Shah and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, attending the World Culture Festival’s grand finale on Sunday.
British Prime Minister David Cameron invited Ravi Shankar to address the House of Commons, the lower house of parliament, while Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull invited AoL to Australia for the next World Culture Festival. “Trees were only pruned and we levelled the floodplain”, he said. “We wanted to create awareness about Yamuna through this event”, said Shankar. “We will not pay any fine because we have done nothing against the environment”, said Sri Sri whose foundation was asked by the NGT to pay a penalty of Rs 5 crore as interim compensation for the World Cultural Festival’s impact on the environment.
However, the NGT expressed its displeasure over the spiritual guru’s statement that he “will go to prison but not pay the fine” and said such a statement was not expected from a person with such high stature.
AoL told the tribunal that it will abide by the ruling and sought four weeks to deposit Rs. 5 crore.

He spent three hours at the event but did not make any reference to the controversy triggered by environmental activists accusing AOL of destroying the river bed by erecting massive structures. I say don’t worry about them.
