Cruz crushes Trump in Wyoming Republican caucus

“Donald Trump continues to play gutter politics, America deserves better and he owes Ohioans an apology for lying to them”, Nichols said.

But that changes on Tuesday, when party rules say states can start awarding all of their delegates to the statewide victor. Trump has called the governor “a baby”.

Trump called Kasich “a baby” at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday morning, adding “he’s not tough enough” to be president.

The District convention attracted scant national attention, with the candidates focusing on Florida, Ohio and other delegate-rich states that hold primaries on Tuesday. Even Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, well off the OH pace at 16 percent, made a quick stop Sunday in the Buckeye State. Marco Rubio tries merely to remain relevant, hoping home-state voters defy recent polls and give him a reason to stay in the race.

Trying to avoid that fate, Rubio seems to be relying on turning out his South Florida base and trying to beat out Trump in key areas along I-10. These polling numbers suggest Cruz would struggle to rack up significant delegate victories in the southern states on March 1, when he was thought to be able to build an initial pad.

Trump will be in Boca on Sunday and Doral on Monday.

The new structure would allow Trump, or one of his challengers, to collect delegates more quickly and potentially achieve an insurmountable advantage before the convention in July.

But Kasich on Sunday did tweak Trump over the increasingly violent confrontations that have broken out at the billionaire’s rallies, including fights at the venue for Trump’s scheduled rally in Chicago Friday night, which Trump canceled.

“We’re not provoking. We want peace….”

But Trump on Saturday rejected the suggestion that he or his supporters were to blame, instead laying responsibility at the feet of protesters he panned as “a disgrace”. Speaking with The Associated Press, he read a list of Trump quotes compiled by an aide that included comments that his audiences should “hit back” a little more and that he’d like to “punch” a protester “in the face”. “I’m here in OH”, he had said.

Trump answered by portraying Kasich as weak and deliberately mispronounced his rival’s Czech surname.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton leads Bernie Sanders by a wide margin in Florida, while her advantage over Sanders in OH is narrower.

Trump, who has rejected accusations he is to blame for the tensions, has emerged from the early nominating contests with a clear lead in the number of delegates needed to win the party nomination for the November 8 election.

Mrs. Clinton already holds a significant lead among delegates nationwide.

Polls have consistently showed Trump winning Florida’s victor take all 99 delegates which would be a blow to the campaign of Sen.
