Now, Henley has told the BBC that that performance of Take It Easy was probably the band’s last together.

“That was the final farewell”, Henley said of the band’s tribute to Frey at this year’s Grammys. “I don’t think you’ll see us performing again”, he confirmed.
That final farewell nearly didn’t happen, according to Henley. The performance was a billed as one-time only special tribute to Frey, who passed away January 18 at the age of 67 from a combination of rheumatoid arthritis, colitis and pneumonia.
He went on to describe the Grammys performance as very hard, revealing it was nearly too emotionally overwhelming to the point it came close to being scrapped.
“I think it was an appropriate farewell”, he explained.

Eagles founder Don Henley has confirmed that the iconic rock group is no more. “We actually nearly didn’t do it but the Grammy people were very insistent and so we decided that we would. He was the first one to start writing the song and Glenn helped him finish it”.
