Donald Trump blasts John Kasich amid challenge from OH governor

John Kasich is off the ballot in Pennsylvania, so he shouldn’t be allowed on the ballot in Ohio.

Marco Rubio would cut an additional 10 million households from paying federal income taxes, while Ted Cruz would cut 18 million, and Donald Trump would cut 33 million.

“I believe with all my heart and soul that we face another time for choosing”, said Romney, “one that will have profound consequences for the Republican party and more importantly, for the country”.

Mr Kasich has pulled even with Mr Trump in some OH polls, and ahead in others, and with party grandee Mitt Romney at his side, urged the people who have twice elected him as governor to send a message that voters want a leader who can unite America, not divide it.

Mr Trump is leading Mr Rubio by double-digits in the latest polls in what is a must-win primary for the Florida senator to keep his campaign alive.

Romney laid out the case against Trump in a high-profile speech earlier this month, in which he called him a “phony” and a “fraud”.

On the campaign trail in Boca Raton, Florida, Sunday evening, Trump touted his polls in the Sunshine State but acknowledged, “In Ohio, it’s pretty even with Kasich”.

At the time, Kasich accepted Romney’s help – but only begrudgingly.

“Unlike the other people running, he has a real track record”, the 2012 GOP nominee said of Kasich.

The closer embrace is a strategic move for the Kasich campaign.

“So this is the guy OH needs to work for. America is counting on you”, Romney said at a town hall event at a military aircraft museum in North Canton.

Mitt Romney came to OH on Monday to help Gov. John Kasich beat Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary, part of the 2012 nominee’s effort to prevent the billionaire from becoming the party’s standard-bearer in 2016.
