Trump said he is looking into paying the legal fees of a supporter who was arrested last week after punching a protester at a North Carolina rally.

Speaking to supporters at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, the Republican frontrunner criticized what he said was the “disgraceful” behavior of anti-Trump protesters. “That’s not what this country is about”, Sanders said just hours before he was set to take the stage for the Sunday night CNN Democratic town hall.

Trump said he “should have gotten credit” for acting responsibly in postponing the event.

Trump, meanwhile, rejected calls to modify his campaign rhetoric amid increasing instances of violence at his events.

“I have no objection to what I said”, Trump said of his past rhetoric at rallies.

The man, John McGraw, was charged with assault and later with communicating a threat after he said he enjoyed hitting “that loudmouth” and threatened next time “to kill him”.

The scenes in Chicago followed several weeks of violence at Trump rallies, in which protesters and journalists have been punched, tackled and hustled out of venues, raising concerns about security leading into the November 8 presidential election to replace Democratic President Barack Obama.

Hot Air’s Allahpundit argues that Trump’s failure to distance himself from his violent supporters undermines his efforts to add to his delegate lead and expand his appeal.

Some critics say Trump has incited this – not only by touting controversial views against illegal immigration and Muslims, but by encouraging violence during the rallies. Ted Cruz – pledged during a debate earlier this month to support Trump if he is the GOP nominee.

“I’m going to ask that you arrest them”, Trump told the police at a campaign event in Kansas City, Missouri, as protesters disrupted his speech soon after he began addressing the crowd, according to CNN.

Marco Rubio, his rival for the Republican nomination who is trailing in third place, called Trump’s actions “reckless and risky”. Trump said, using an alternate acronym for Islamic State. Peterson said. “I make the point that they are demonstrating something they had no knowledge about”. “Donald Trump is showing the American people that he is a pathological liar”.

Trump also took aim at Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who he’s working to catch up with ahead of Tuesday’s Ohio primary.

McGraw “got carried away”, Trump said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” but “frankly wants to see America made great again”.
