Bayern to go on the attack against Juventus

Juventus on Tuesday announced that injured striker Paulo Dybala and midfielder Claudio Marchisio will miss Wednesday’s Champions League’s second leg of the pre-quarterfinal against Bayern Munich, in a big blow for the Italian football champions.

They have conceded only one goal in 12 Serie A matches in 2016, keeping an unprecedented 10th successive clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Sassuolo last week.

Juventus have numerous problems going into the Allianz Arena.

The 22-year-old Argentinian will not travel to the Allianz Arena, where Juve will bid to conquer Pep Guardiola’s men following a 2-2 draw in the first leg, after injuring a calf muscle during training.

Juve’s former Bayern striker Mario Mandzukic is carrying a knock, but should be able to take part in training on Tuesday before the squad flies to Munich.

French winger Franck Ribery says the Italians are more than capable of pulling off an upset in Munich.

Bayern lost despite enjoying 78 percent possession and firing in 17 shots on goal and Juventus’ analysts will have noted the way Mainz patiently took their chances.

Dybala has scored 14 goals in the Serie A so far, while Marchisio is a key figure in the team’s structure.

Their Spanish playmaker Thiago Alcantara also netted twice in an impressive display.

“No doubt about it, we started the first leg in completely the wrong fashion”.

But Juventus, Champions League finalists last season, fought back in the second half and levelled through strikes from Dybala and Stefano Sturaro.

Guardiola is under pressure to deliver silverware in his third and final season in Munich before taking over at Manchester City.
